KING'S X Frontman DOUG PINNICK: New Solo Album Sample Posted Online
May 16, 2005An audio sample of KING'S X frontman Doug Pinnick's third solo album, "Emotional Animal", has been posted online at MagnaCarta.net.
"Emotional Animal", will be relased on July 19 via Magna Carta Records. Doug played most of the instruments and vocals; with a little help from KING'S X drummer Jerry's son Joy Gaskill (drums) and Kelly Watson (mouth trumpet and vocals on "Freak The Funk Out"). The CD was recorded and mixed at Poundhound Studio by Dug, and mastered by Ty Tabor. "Emotional Animal" will have an interview and bonus demo versions of two of the songs on the CD-Rom portion of the disc.
While Pinnick's previous solo outings were credited to POUNDHOUND, this will be the first to feature solely Pinnick's name (or a slight variation thereof: DUG PINNICK). He described the album to Billboard.com as mostly rock-based but with a few surprises, including the gospel-tinged "Equal Rights", as well as a dance track, "When You Gonna Come". KING'S X's recently completed studio album is currently being shopped to interested labels. No release date has yet been announced for the effort, which was produced by veteran metal producer Michael Wagener (SKID ROW, WARRANT, ACCEPT, HAMMERFALL). Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Bam", "Where Do You Go", "Honesty", "Open My Eyes", "Mud", "Sooner or Later", "Freedom", "Fly", "Alison", "If", "Be Bop", "Alone" and "Stay".
